Sound Massage (30 mins)

Service Description

A sound massage is a form of sound therapy that originated in India. It is an ancient, holistic & complementary therapy, that aims to induce a state of relaxation, in which the body can heal itself. WHAT TO EXPECT In a sound massage, Himalayan Singing Bowls will be played on and around your body (typically on key energy centres or meridian lines) to create gentle yet powerful sound waves that travel through your whole body, gently massaging every cell, muscle, and organ from the inside out through the power of vibration.  As each bowl has its own musical note, it's possible to create certain "moods" through choosing certain musical combinations. In a sound massage I focus on harmonic, stabilising, and relaxing combinations to help soothe the mind and spirit, and to bring about a sense of peace, calm and serenity.  As physical & mental blockages, tension and toxins dissolve, the body starts to relax, and self-healing begins. Cells are repaired, circulation improves, and energy & blood flow is be restored. Typically this leads to a "lightness" or a sense of feeling lighter, and better state of being all around, and a sound massage looks to treat the person as a whole, not symptomatically. However results vary from person to person as every body is different and cannot be guaranteed.  You can also expect to feel a slight tingling, buzzing and warming radiance flowing throughout your body as the bowls are played, bringing you out of your mind and back into your body as you feel the sensations move through you, grounding you to the present, and bringing you "back down to earth".  As a sound massage is fully clothed and works on the same energy centres and points as massage, acupuncture and reflexology,  it may be ideal for someone who has considered acupuncture but doesn't like the sight or feeling of needles or someone who has considered reflexology but doesn't want their feet touched or massaged.  In a 30 minute session, you'll receive 20 minutes of sound + 10 mins consult time. HEALTH RECOMMENDATIONS A sound massage is of benefit to the majority of healthy people, but it is not recommended if any of the following apply to you: You are pregnant (in the first trimester); epileptic; prone to seizures; dealing with a severe mental illness such as PTSD, sound-related PTSD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder; subject to slipped discs, bulging discs, or any serious spinal issue; or intoxicated.
