Reiki, meaning universal life force, is a gentle yet powerful healing practice that works with the subtle energy present in all living things — sometimes known as chi, prana, or even love. During a Reiki session, life force energy is channelled through the the practitioner's hands to help rebalance the body’s biofield (its energetic field), which many say supports deep relaxation, energetic flow, and a reconnection to self and source. How does our life force become depleted? When we spend prolonged periods in states of stress, fear, resistance, worry, or anger, or when our emotional and physical needs are unmet, our life force can diminish. This energetic depletion may show up as fatigue, pain, tension, low mood — or, over time, chronic illness. Reiki provides a nurturing, non-invasive way to restore balance and vitality, inviting softness, clarity, and healing across body, mind, and spirit. GOOD TO KNOW: Both Laura & Tom are accredited by the IPHM, and Laura is also accredited by the UK Reiki Federation. HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS Reiki is generally safe and suitable for most people. However, it is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy or for those with a pacemaker, as energetic flow may potentially affect its rhythm.
