About Found in Sound

Found in Sound is run by Laura and Tom, professionally trained and insured Sound Therapy and Reiki practitioners with over 30 years’ combined experience across music, voice, rhythm, performance, wellbeing, and therapeutic sound.

We both came to this work from musical backgrounds, but our journeys into sound healing were deeply personal. For Laura, sound became a turning point after a series of illnesses. At first, it simply helped her relax. Over time, however, it began to offer something deeper: space to see life more clearly. Through sound, patterns, beliefs, emotions, and ways of living that were no longer serving her gradually came into view.

As different choices were made, her wellbeing began to change too. That experience sparked a lasting curiosity about the relationship between our physical wellbeing and emotional lives, and the possibility that sound could become more than a tool for relaxation. It could become a way of exploring ourselves with greater honesty, awareness, and compassion.

Tom’s path into sound also began through lived experience. Following an accident, sound became part of his own relationship with healing, recovery, and the body. His background in professional music, rhythm, and performance gives him an embodied understanding of vibration, presence, energy, and the emotional resonance of sound.

As we continued our training in therapeutic sound, meditation, and voice, we found these ideas echoed again and again by our teachers. Sound was never presented simply as something that helps us relax. It was also understood as a doorway to awareness, insight, reconnection, and meaningful change.

Reiki deepened this understanding further. It brought another dimension to our work — one rooted in energy, intention, sensitivity, and the subtle ways we can listen beyond words. It showed us that healing and reconnection are not always reached through analysis or explanation. Sometimes they emerge through presence, trust, compassion, and the quiet intelligence of the body and energy system.

Laura completed her core Sound Therapy training with the British Academy of Sound Therapy, alongside advanced study with Simone Salvatici. Tom also trained in Sound Therapy with Simone Salvatici. Both hold Usui Reiki II with Rezenance and are members of the IPHM, while Laura is also an Associate Member of the UK Reiki Federation.

Together, our work brings together professional training, lived experience, intuitive listening, and a deep respect for the way sound and Reiki meet each person differently.

We see sound and reiki as doorways — into rest, reflection, release, creativity, inner wisdom, and the parts of ourselves that can become harder to hear beneath the noise of everyday life. They do not require you to analyse, explain, or figure everything out. They offer space to pause, receive, and listen more deeply to what is already within you.

We do not diagnose, treat, or promise particular outcomes. We are not medical professionals, and that is not the work we do. Instead, we create carefully held experiences where rest, reflection, insight, and reconnection may naturally emerge.

We see ourselves as fellow explorers — continually learning, listening, and evolving through lived experience, study, practice, our teachers, our clients, our instruments, and these beautiful modalities.

Our hope is that what we share — whether through group sound baths, reiki, sound massage, private sound experiences, or one-to-one work — helps you find something meaningful within the experience too.

A moment of stillness.
A nervous system reset.

A gentle shift.
A sense of connection.

Time for yourself.

Because so much can be found when we make space to listen.
